Behind the Bottle: The Story of Athina Parfums
Athina Parfums began with a shared passion for fragrance and the ambition to create something of our own. This is the story behind our independent fragrance brand, the people behind it and everything that goes into bringing each creation to life.
Where It All Began
Our journey began in 2023 with an £800 investment, a storage container and an idea we believed in.
Through The Fragrance Cabinet, we began helping customers discover fragrances from around the world. Speaking directly with fragrance lovers taught us that choosing a scent is about much more than a list of notes. It is about how it makes you feel.
Eventually, we knew we wanted to take everything we had learned and create fragrances of our own.
That idea became Athina Parfums.
Why We Created Athina Parfums
We wanted to create fragrances that felt luxurious, distinctive and exciting, while remaining accessible enough to be worn and enjoyed.
Athina Parfums was created for people who want something with its own personality. Each fragrance begins with an idea, a feeling or an atmosphere that we want to bring to life.
We are not interested in creating a scent simply because a particular style is popular. Every fragrance needs its own identity and a reason to exist.
How Our Process Has Evolved
Our first fragrance, Midnight Stars, was created and produced in Dubai. It brought Athina Parfums to life and taught us an incredible amount about developing a fragrance of our own.
Since then, we have brought production in-house here in the UK. We now work with a UK perfumer and source our fragrance oils from Grasse, France, a region with a long and celebrated connection to perfumery.
This allows us to be more closely involved throughout the process and continue building a creative identity of our own.
Built Independently in Liverpool
Athina Parfums is an independent fragrance brand built by two people in Liverpool.
There is no huge team behind the scenes. We develop ideas, work through challenges, inspect products, create content and pack your orders ourselves.
Being independent means we can remain close to the people who wear our fragrances. We see your messages, read your reviews and listen to your feedback. Those conversations continue to influence how Athina Parfums grows.
We want our customers to feel part of the journey, rather than simply purchasing another bottle of perfume.

When somebody chooses to support an independent brand, it means more than they may realise. Each bottle that leaves us represents another person giving our creation a chance, and we never take that support for granted.
What Comes Next?
Athina Parfums will continue to evolve, but the foundations of the brand will remain the same.
We will continue developing fragrances with their own personality, remain closely involved throughout the process and keep learning from the people who wear our creations.
Our journey has already brought more challenges, lessons and unforgettable moments than we ever expected. But seeing an Athina Parfums bottle on someone’s dressing table, reading a customer’s review or watching somebody discover a new favourite fragrance makes every stage worthwhile.
This is the story behind the bottle so far.
And we are only just beginning.
